The most in-demand CDL. Qualify to drive combination vehicles — tractor-trailers, tankers, flatbeds, and more. Required for most long-haul and regional trucking jobs.
Heavy Straight Truck / Bus
Drive single-unit vehicles over 26,001 lbs GVWR — box trucks, dump trucks, large passenger buses, and delivery vehicles. Great for local and regional routes.
Passenger & HazMat Vehicles
Transport 16+ passengers or hazardous materials in vehicles not covered by Class A or B. Required for school buses, shuttle services, and certain specialty routes.
Entry Level Driver Training
Federally required for all first-time CDL applicants since February 2022. VSP is a registered FMCSA ELDT provider — we handle your Training Provider Registry (TPR) registration.

A Typical Training Day
From 8 AM to 5 PM — Your Day at VSP
Morning Briefing
Safety review, daily objectives, and pre-trip inspection walkthrough.
Classroom Instruction
FMCSRs, hours of service, hazmat awareness, and CDL knowledge prep.
Range Training
Backing maneuvers, alley dock, offset backing, and skills-test exercises.
Lunch Break
One hour break. Students are encouraged to review materials.
Behind-the-Wheel
